Teenagers Criticized for Dancing on Buffalo Statue at Chonburi Bridge Landmark

Chonburi: Unconstructive content has gone viral after a group of teenagers danced on the back of a buffalo statue at the new bridge landmark in Chonburi. Netizens have condemned their behavior. Recently, the parents of five teenagers, aged 14-16, who filmed the video, have met with police and apologized to the public.

According to Thai News Agency, a popular Facebook page in Chonburi province posted a video of a group of four teenagers, both male and female, dancing and creating content behind a buffalo statue. The accompanying text stated, “We condemn this uncreative content. The statue on display was created by students from various schools using their imagination, but to treat it like this… Do you know this is practically a highlight of Chonburi? This buffalo roundabout…” Netizens criticized their inappropriate behavior.

The clip was taken on Chalerm Phra Kiat Road, near the new Chonburi Bridge, at the Buffalo Roundabout in Mueang District, Chonburi Province. This roundabout is a symbol of tourism, featuring buffalo statues painted with colorful designs by school children, displayed at the roundabout as part of the annual buffalo racing festival in Chonburi.

Netizens have commented on the inappropriateness of the act, noting that it not only damages the image but also poses a safety hazard due to the high volume of traffic at the roundabout. They urged relevant authorities to track down the individuals involved and take legal action or at least issue a warning.

However, the parents of the five juveniles, aged 14-16, who filmed the video, have recently met with the police. They stated that they acted without thinking and apologized to the public.
