Samut Prakan: Two people were injured following a shooting incident in Soi Dan Samrong market, Samut Prakan, after a meeting between two groups of teenagers intended to resolve personal differences turned violent. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators who fled the scene.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. when officers from Samrong Nuea Police Station responded to a report of gunfire in the market area. Upon arrival, they discovered two injured individuals. Mr. Suphanatee, aged 30, sustained a head wound from a sharp object and was transported to Samrong Hospital. Meanwhile, Mr. Phongsakon, aged 28, suffered a gunshot wound to his left hip and was taken to Mueang Samut Prakan Hospital for treatment.
The investigation revealed that the altercation stemmed from a personal conflict between the mothers of the two groups. Mr. Phongsakon, one of the victims, explained that the teenagers had arranged to meet in an attempt to resolve the issue, but the discussion deteriorated, leading to violence when the opposing group resorted to using weapons.
Eyewitness Mr. Pairoj, 53, recounted seeing a pickup truck and a sedan arrive at the market, with approximately 20 individuals disembarking to address the disagreement. However, the situation quickly escalated, culminating in gunfire. Officers found several bullet casings and bullet heads scattered at the scene and have collected them as evidence in their ongoing investigation to apprehend those responsible.
