Bangkok: Academics highlight the necessity for Thai society to approach the global energy crisis with political maturity, avoiding exploitation for political gain. They emphasize the government's capability to manage the situation, maintaining a near-normal status for Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Olar Thinbangtiao from Burapha University's Faculty of Political Science remarked on the global crisis's extensive impact, noting the intricate interconnection of economic, political, and international security systems. He believes that while no country can entirely evade external impacts, Thailand can maintain macroeconomic stability, supporting livelihoods and social stability. This balance reflects the government's efforts in addressing immediate issues and establishing long-term foundations.

Associate Professor Olar expressed concerns over political exploitation of the crisis, warning that it could lead to factual distortions and increased societal distrust. He stressed the importance of political maturity during these fragile times.

He further noted that while democratic scrutiny and criticism are essential, they should be grounded in data, accountability, and constructive purpose. Thai society should focus on feasible and practical policy proposals within the constraints of current circumstances. He emphasized that the success of crisis resolution should be measured by tangible improvements in people's lives rather than political rhetoric.

Associate Professor Olar concluded that by reducing confrontational stances and fostering constructive dialogue, Thailand has the potential to overcome the crisis effectively, strengthening its political and social systems. He views the crisis as a test of national governance, urging prioritization of the common good over political conflicts.
