Bangkok: The Thai national athletes will don SIRIVANNAVARI branded ceremonial attire for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Asian Games, as announced by Dr. Kongsak Yodmani, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand. This prestigious event, 'Aichi-Nagoya 2026,' will be held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, commencing on September 19th and concluding on October 4th.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremonial attire is designed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the creative director of SIRIVANNAVARI, at the behest of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The design, under the concept 'The Art of Unity,' marries Thai identity with modern aesthetics, creating a momentous occasion for Thai sports. This initiative aims to generate excitement and national pride as the Thai athletes parade in these unique outfits during the opening ceremony.

The attire incorporates hand-woven indigo-dyed cotton fabrics from the "Don Koi Model" in Sakon Nakhon province and cotton fabrics from the Foundation for the Promotion of Arts and Crafts under Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. These materials were chosen to evoke pride in Thai identity, aligning with Her Majesty's vision for national support of Thai athletes in continental sporting events.

The Asian Games will be broadcast live across seven digital TV channels, including Channel 9 MCOT HD, NBT, and PPTV HD 36, with live coverage starting on September 10th. The opening ceremony will notably be aired on NBT, T SPORTS 7, and PPTV HD 36 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, allowing audiences nationwide to partake in the excitement of the games.
