Bangkok: The Thai Chamber of Commerce has expressed its support for Anutin Charnvirakul’s appointment as the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand, while emphasizing the importance of addressing four urgent missions that are crucial for the country’s economic recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, the Chamber has welcomed Anutin’s leadership and is ready to collaborate on initiatives such as the “Half-Half” scheme, which aims to stimulate domestic consumption. The Chamber has also highlighted the importance of resolving export issues swiftly, negotiating US tariffs, and establishing free trade agreements to boost Thailand’s competitiveness.
Dr. Poj Aramwattananon, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the need for the new government to tackle immediate economic challenges amidst global economic slowdown, limited trade and investment, and rising business costs. He called for a cabinet with qualified individuals who prioritize national and public interests to restore confidence and create new opportunities.
The Chamber has agreed to support the government’s four urgent missions, which include reducing living costs, addressing debt problems, managing border security, and developing systems to handle natural disasters and social threats. These measures are seen as crucial for the country’s recovery and stability.
Furthermore, the Chamber is committed to enhancing confidence in the Thai tourism sector, particularly targeting Chinese tourists during the peak tourist season. This effort is expected to generate significant income for local communities and contribute to economic growth.
