Helsingborg: Thai children have made a remarkable achievement on the global stage by winning medals in the world's largest choral singing competition. The "Chuladhar" choir from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School (Secondary Division) became the first secondary school team from Thailand to win a gold medal in the Youth Choirs of Equal Voices competition and a silver medal in the Sacred Choral Music a cappella competition.
According to Thai News Agency, the choir's victory took place at the World Choir Games 2026 in Helsingborg, Sweden. This significant accomplishment highlights the talents and dedication of the young Thai singers, who have now set a new benchmark for musical excellence in their country.
Following their success, the choir further showcased their skills and cultural heritage by performing a major concert at Sophia Cathedral in Stockholm. The event was attended by a large audience, including the Thai Ambassador, diplomatic corps, city council representatives, and members of the Thai community in Sweden. The performance was a captivating display of Thai culture, with powerful vocal harmonies that highlighted the unique identity of Thailand to the international audience.
