Ankara: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that the Thai Embassy in Ankara is coordinating the repatriation of the body of "Hlun Solo" to Thailand. According to Thai News Agency, the Thai Embassy in Ankara is coordinating the repatriation of Hlun Solo's remains to Thailand after his family granted power of attorney. The embassy affirms it is closely monitoring the cause of death from Georgian authorities.

Ms. Jaithai Upakarnnitikaset, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided an update on the repatriation of the remains of Mr. Bowornthat Pengsuk, or Hlun Solo, to Thailand. She stated that the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara, Georgia, continues to closely coordinate with the Georgian authorities until the entire process is complete. Last Friday, Hlun's family traveled to Georgia to prepare a power of attorney authorizing the embassy to officially handle the repatriation process. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitated the necessary documentation and sent it to the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara for further action.

Regarding the repatriation of Hlun's body, this involves the authorization process. Once completed, they will proceed with obtaining official death confirmation from the Georgian authorities. In Thailand, a death certificate will be issued to facilitate the return of Hlun's body to the country. The embassy has been closely coordinating with the family, the insurance company, and the Georgian authorities. Last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, spoke with Hlun's family by telephone, expressing his condolences and reiterating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is fully prepared to assist and facilitate the process.

Regarding the autopsy to determine the cause of Hlun's death, Ms. Jaithai stated that they are currently awaiting the results of forensic analysis from the Georgian authorities, a process that takes time. Snuff samples have already been collected and tested for identification. This is to allow for the repatriation of Hlun's body even without the autopsy being completed. However, this is an issue that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy will continue to follow up on.
