Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has revoked the allowance of “Tokyogurl” and prohibited her from participating in activities of the Esports Association.
According to Thai News Agency, the SAT’s decision came after it was discovered that Naphat, known in the esports community as “Tokyogurlz,” had altered hardware during a competition, allowing another individual to control the game.
This revelation has prompted the Esports Association of Thailand to immediately withdraw the entire Thai women’s Arena of Valor (ROV) team from the ongoing competition. Mr. Preecha Lalun, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand for Elite Sports and Sports Science, stated that discussions will be held with the Esports Association of Thailand regarding the penalties. The athlete will be banned from participating in association activities, with the duration of the ban pending further investigation. Additionally, allowances provided to the athlete during a 10-month training camp from February to November will be reclaimed. Other athletes’ cases are under review.
Furthermore, Garena, the service provider of the game, announced an official ban on “Tokyogurl” from all RoV competitions organized by them. Garena highlighted its commitment to upholding the rules, regulations, and competition standards to ensure fairness and transparency within the esports industry.
