Bangkok: The Thai national extreme sports team made a powerful start by clinching two gold medals in the team wakesurfing and team wakeboarding events at the 33rd SEA Games.
According to Thai News Agency, the extreme sports competition took place at Rabbit Lake, Bangkok, where the Thai team excelled in the team wakesurfing event. The event’s outcome was based on the combined performance of the three best athletes from each team of four. The Thai athletes, Songkrod Chombun, Patrick Wongwut MacArthur, Annisa Thitita Flynn, and Kantita Chayliam, accumulated a total of 240 points, securing the gold medal. Indonesia and Malaysia followed, earning silver and bronze with scores of 144 and 128 points, respectively.
In the subsequent team wakeboard event, the Thai team continued their exceptional performance. The team, comprising Pisit Mahatthana Chaturaphat, Piti Sirithasnakul, Praepim Pipatsawat, and Lalada Liu, achieved a score of 220 points, earning their second gold medal. Indonesia claimed the silver with 120 points, while the Philippines secured the bronze with 112 points.
