Nonthaburi: The Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is stepping up its efforts to enhance public health literacy by bringing healthcare services directly to the public seven days a week. The initiative aims to build confidence in healthcare products and improve the accessibility of essential information.
According to Thai News Agency, the FDA is organizing the "FDA Serving the Public: Building Confidence in Health Products" event from April 1-7, 2026, at Central Westgate Shopping Mall in Nonthaburi Province. This event provides a platform for the public to easily access services and information on health products, with the objective of enhancing health literacy and instilling confidence in choosing safe health products.
Dr. Pichet Phuedkhunthod, Deputy Secretary-General of the FDA, emphasized the administration's crucial role in consumer protection and improving the quality of life for the public. Under the vision "FDA on Health Up - Upgrading the Thai FDA for All Thais," the FDA is committed to providing citizens with accurate information and promoting health literacy. The event, part of "Public Service Week" commemorating Civil Servant Day 2026, is a collaborative effort with agencies such as the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The event features services and educational resources through four main booths: product licensing consultations, FDA registration number verification, preliminary food contaminant testing, and education on reading labels, nutrition symbols, "healthy choice" labels, and cosmetic advertising. Interactive activities for the public are also held throughout the event.
The Deputy Secretary-General concluded that this initiative represents an essential mechanism for delivering government services to the public in a tangible manner, empowering individuals to choose health products correctly, safely, and confidently. The event is open to the public free of charge from April 1st to 7th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
