According to Thai News Agency, Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew engaged in talks with Iranian Ambassador to Thailand Nozreddine Haidari to emphasize Thailand's request for help concerning the three Thai crew members aboard the USS Mayurinaree. The discussion focused on obtaining humanitarian support from the Iranian Navy and ensuring the safe passage of the Thai commercial vessel through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian Ambassador conveyed that the request had been communicated to authorities in the capital. Iranian officials have shown a willingness to assist in both matters and are prepared to aid in the rescue mission for the Thai crew members.
In relation to the Thai commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz, discussions between the two ministers have advanced. The Iranian Ambassador agreed that Thailand, recognized as a friendly nation, should be granted access to sail through the strait and committed to pursuing a prompt response from the capital.
