Chiang mai: The "Thai Helps Thai" campaign launched its inaugural event on Labor Day, witnessing enthusiastic participation from Chiang Mai residents eager to purchase discounted goods. The Ministry of Commerce spearheaded the initiative, organizing a bustling market at the Chiang Mai Provincial Hall where vendors offered a diverse range of affordable food and household items.

According to Thai News Agency, the event featured collaboration with major retailers, providing discounts up to 58% on various products. Vendors expressed excitement about both selling and shopping at the market, tempted by attractively priced items like cooking oil and laundry detergent. Ms. Natthaporn Mahapaiboon, the Chiang Mai Provincial Commerce Officer, highlighted that the initiative aims to reduce living costs by offering quality products at affordable prices, with plans to expand sales points across the nation, especially in remote areas.

In Khon Kaen, the "Thai Helps Thai" event attracted large crowds eager to buy discounted consumer goods. The community hall transformed into a vibrant marketplace, offering essential items like eggs, rice, and household products at 10-15% discounts, alongside buy-one-get-one-free promotions. The event also showcased OTOP products and local specialties, contributing to the local economy. Residents appreciated the opportunity to purchase essentials at lower prices and expressed hope for the continuation of similar activities to ease their financial burdens.

Meanwhile, in Songkhla, the "Thai People Smile" market hosted the "Community Development Department of Songkhla's Mobile Market" under the same campaign. Deputy Governor Chuchip Thammaphet inaugurated the event, which featured mobile market trucks selling an array of produce from local projects. The initiative, in collaboration with the Community Development Department, aimed to expand market channels and distribute income to local communities, offering quality products at affordable prices to residents. The event saw participation from local officials, including the Deputy Governor and the Vice President of the Songkhla Provincial Housewives Association, who actively supported by purchasing products.
