Thai Helps Thai Plus Program Sees Over 26 Million Registrations Nationwide

Bangkok: The government has announced that the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" program has garnered significant participation, with over 26.2 million people registered and more than 650,000 shops nationwide ready to participate.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" project continues to receive a positive response since registration opened on May 25, 2026. As of May 28, 2026, 26,207,092 people have registered, with 25,480,764 successfully receiving their benefits. This includes 18,840,065 individuals who had previously participated in the Co-Pay Plus program and 6,640,699 new registrants, highlighting public confidence in the government's economic stimulus measures.

The deputy spokesperson noted that the majority of successful registrations came from the 31-45 age group, totaling over 8.2 million, followed by the 46-60 age group with 7.2 million registrations, and the 21-30 age group with 4.7 million. Women accounted for 56 percent of the successful registrations, while men accounted for 44 percent.

In terms of merchant participation, 1,029,161 merchants have registered for the project. Of these, 1,025,038 have had their information verified, and over 652,980 are ready to use the service. Food and beverage establishments lead the participation with 581,210 businesses, followed by general stores and other businesses, government-subsidized stores, OTOP stores, and public transportation and mass transit businesses.

Regionally, the Northeast region boasts the highest number of participating shops at 199,900, followed by Bangkok, the South, the Central region, and the East. Bangkok, Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, and Pathum Thani have the most participating shops.

Ms. Lalida emphasized the government's commitment, under Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, to stimulate the grassroots economy and support small retailers, local entrepreneurs, and community businesses. She highlighted the growing number of registrations as a testament to the public's confidence in the government's measures, aiming to reduce the cost of living, increase purchasing power, and generate income nationwide.
