Thai Men’s Football Team Defeats Singapore to Secure SEA Games Semi-Final Spot

Bangkok: The Thai men’s football team defeated Singapore 3-0 to advance to the semi-finals of the SEA Games. The victory marked their second consecutive win in the tournament, solidifying their position as a formidable contender in the 33rd SEA Games.

According to Thai News Agency, the match took place on December 11, 2025, at Rajamangala National Stadium. The Thai team, having previously defeated Timor-Leste 6-1, faced Singapore in their second Group A match. Singapore’s coach, Wang Thawatchai Damrongongtrakul, opted for an attacking strategy, fielding a three-man forward line comprising Yosakorn Burapha, Ikhlas Sanharn, and Sirapop Wandee, with Seksan Ratree and Thanakrit Chotimueangpak handling midfield duties.

The game commenced with Thailand creating an early opportunity in the 11th minute, as Vision Inoram advanced and set up Thanakrit Chotimueangpak, whose effort was stopped by the Singaporean goalkeeper. Despite several attempts, the first half concluded without any goals. Singapore had a notable chance in the 37th minute when Jonan Tan’s long-range shot hit the crossbar.

The second half saw Thailand make strategic substitutions, resulting in immediate impact. In the 49th minute, Ikhlas Sanharn’s play led to Sirapop Wandee curling a shot into the net, giving Thailand a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, Yosakorn Burapha extended the lead to 2-0. A free kick in the 55th minute allowed Yosakorn Burapha to score again, sealing the 3-0 victory.

Throughout the match, Thailand continued to press for additional goals, with Seksan Ratree and Thanakrit Chotimueangpak coming close to increasing the lead. Despite these efforts, the score remained unchanged, with Thailand securing all three points.

Looking ahead, Thailand will face the runner-up of Group B or C in the semi-finals on December 15, 2025, at Rajamangala National Stadium. The team aims to maintain their winning momentum and advance further in the tournament.
