Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a war room to monitor the escalating situation in the Middle East and is preparing to assist Thai citizens who may be affected. Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew discussed the tense situation and the potential for conflict escalation, which could impact the well-being of Thai citizens residing in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken several actions to address the situation. They have been in continuous contact with all Thai embassies in the Middle East to monitor and assess developments, ensuring that Thai citizens are kept informed. The Royal Thai Embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran have issued warnings and offered advice, establishing a hotline for Thai citizens.
Today, the Ministry issued a warning to Thai citizens in areas at risk, particularly in Iran and Israel, urging them to leave immediately. Thais who do not need to travel to these regions are advised to reconsider their plans.
In response to the situation, a war room has been set up by the Ministry to work closely with various agencies, including Thai embassies. These embassies have prepared necessary assistance, including evacuation plans if needed. Additionally, the Department of Consular Affairs has established a 24-hour center for urgent assistance.
The Ministry will also coordinate with relevant embassies and Thai associations in various countries to ensure full protection for Thai citizens and provide necessary assistance as the situation evolves.
