Thai National Team Triumphs in PUBG MOBILE at 2026 Asian Games

Aichi-Nagoya:The Thai PUBG MOBILE national team claimed the gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Led by captain Sathit Thanomjit, the team included Pawarit Wongthonghaschai, Supachai Singkaew, Phumirapee Wannalertsakul, and Nattawut Muensa, with coaching from Thanarat Makhotsa of the eArena club. They amassed 128 points with 75 kills over 12 matches, surpassing competitors from 11 nations, including previous champions China, to win Thailand's 11th gold medal at the event.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team excelled in the two-day competition held at the Aichi Sky Expo. They secured three Winner Winner Chicken Dinners and maintained the lead from the sixth match, finishing 14 points ahead of China, who took silver, while Pakistan claimed bronze. The tournament featured 12 nations, playing six matches per day on Erangel and Miramar.

The team's success is attributed to Thailand's growing esports ecosystem, which includes amateur competitions, professional clubs, and development systems like eArena's "Zero to Hero" concept. This approach nurtures talent from amateurs to professional players and national athletes, focusing on skills, teamwork, and discipline.

Mr. Jirayot Theppipit, President of eArena Esports Club, emphasized the significance of the win for both the athletes and Thai esports. He acknowledged the support from the Esports Association of Thailand, the National Olympic Committee, and the athletes' families. He highlighted the transformation of esports into a prestigious sport and its potential to inspire young players to pursue professional careers.
