Bangkok: The Thai national para table tennis team delivered a remarkable performance at the ITTF World Para Elite Nakhon Ratchasima 2026 competition, held in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The team secured an impressive total of 16 medals, including 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 10 bronze medals, competing against athletes from over 40 countries.

According to Thai News Agency, the singles events saw Thailand clinching 3 gold medals. Rungroj Thainiyom triumphed in the men's singles class 6, Yutthajak Klinbanchuen in the men's singles class 3, and Wichitra Jai-on in the women's singles class 4-5. The team also earned 4 bronze medals in the doubles and mixed doubles events.

Further achievements included two additional gold medals in the doubles categories. Yutthachak Klinbanchuen teamed up with Wanchai Chaiwut to win the men's doubles MD8 class, while Yutthachak and Wichitra Jai-on claimed victory in the mixed doubles XD7 class. The Thai team also garnered one silver and six more bronze medals in various categories.

The Thai para table tennis team's outstanding performance has brought immense pride to the nation. With their success at this tournament, they are now gearing up for their next challenge at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, scheduled from October 18-24, 2026.
