Thai Pavilion at Expo 2025 Attracts Thousands Daily in Osaka

Osaka: The Thai Pavilion at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai region, Japan, has consistently drawn long lines of visitors, with an average of 8,200 people queuing each day to experience the showcase of Thai health wisdom. The organizer of the pavilion has assured that the procurement process adhered to transparent practices in line with the Ministry of Public Health’s requirements.

According to Thai News Agency, the pavilion’s official opening ceremony will be held tomorrow, presided over by Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health. Despite criticisms about the pavilion’s content, the significant daily attendance since its opening on April 13, 2025, indicates strong public interest. Mr. Upatham Nitsitsukcharoen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wrightman Co., Ltd. and representative of RMA110 Joint Venture, clarified the procurement process, which involved three rounds due to various challenges, ultimately leading to RMA110 Joint Venture being awarded the contract.

Mr. Upatham explained that the joint venture between Wrightman Co., Ltd. and Architect 110 Co., Ltd. was formed to leverage their combined expertise in exhibition and architecture. The focus of the pavilion is on presenting traditional Thai medicine, herbs, and Thai massage, highlighting Thailand’s strengths as a health and wellness center rather than advanced technological innovations.

Dr. Korakrit Limsommut, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support, confirmed that the procurement process complied with government regulations, with the specific method used in the third round due to time constraints and the necessity to meet Japanese deadlines. The Ministry of Public Health emphasized that the investment of 867.88 million baht to construct the pavilion aims to enhance Thailand’s global image in health and culture, promising economic and tourism benefits in the long run.
