Bangkok: The Thai People's Party has strategically chosen "Jae Tim Sodsai," identified as candidate number 2, to represent the interests of residents in Bang Khun Thian and Chom Thong. The party aims to secure a parliamentary seat to promptly address local challenges.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkasit Kunanantakul, leader of the Puangchon Thai Party and candidate number 23 on the party-list for the House of Representatives, actively supported Ms. Sodsai Ommahanon during her campaign. Ms. Sodsai is vying for a position as Bangkok Constituency 26's representative, focusing on areas including Bang Khun Thian's Tha Kham subdistrict and most parts of Chom Thong. The campaign efforts included community walks, market visits, and traversing major roads such as Suk Sawat and Rama 2, where they engaged with residents and promoted their candidacy.
Ms. Sodsai Ommahanon brings a wealth of experience to her candidacy, having served as a former Senator for Chom Thong district. She is also a treasurer for a community enterprise in Chom Thong and for the agricultural transfer center in Bang Mo Chom Thong. Her longstanding expertise in agriculture within the Chom Thong subdistrict positions her as a knowledgeable advocate for the community.
Mr. Ekkasit emphasized the Thai People's Party's commitment to addressing national issues, particularly income inequality. As president of the Employers' Confederation of Thailand, he highlighted policies aimed at human resource development, job creation, career advancement, and workforce upskilling, with a focus on immediate income enhancement. His vision includes fostering a thriving environment for employers and improving welfare for informal workers, self-employed individuals, and freelancers.
In a direct appeal to the electorate, Mr. Ekkasit urged residents of Bang Khun Thian and Chom Thong to support Ms. Sodsai, trusting her to effectively represent their interests in parliament.
