Thai Rights Help Thai Plus: Five Groups Ineligible for Financial Assistance

Bangkok: The Ministry of Finance has identified five specific groups that will not be eligible to receive benefits from the 60/40 "Thai-Thai" financial assistance program. This announcement comes ahead of the registration period set between May 25-29, 2026, as part of the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" initiative aimed at mitigating the effects of the ongoing energy crisis and elevated living costs.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Finance has outlined the disqualifications for this scheme, which include several distinct categories. Firstly, individuals holding State Welfare Cards as of May 18, 2026, will be redirected to benefit from the 2026 State Welfare Card Program instead. Additionally, individuals who have had their rights suspended or were required to return money from any previous phases of the "Half-Price Scheme" or related Co-Pay Programs are also ineligible. The program further excludes individuals under the age of 18, non-Thai nationals, and those who fail to register within the designated timeframe or after the 30 million participant cap is reached.

Mr. Payong Srivanich, President and CEO of Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited, has assured the public of the operational readiness of the "Paotang" application system for the registration process. Participants from the "Kon La Khrueng Plus" project can verify their eligibility through the app and receive immediate feedback. New applicants will undergo a verification process with the Department of Provincial Administration, expected to take approximately three days.

The government stresses that the program's primary goal is to alleviate living expenses, with a stipulation that the 1,000 baht monthly allowance must be utilized within the month it is allocated, thereby preventing rollover and encouraging economic stimulation.
