Rome: Thai national skateboarders delivered impressive performances at the WST Skateboarding World Cup Rome 2026 in Italy. Wariraya Sukasem, nicknamed "ST," narrowly missed the semi-finals of the Street Women's event, finishing 17th with a score of 52.12, just 0.66 points behind the final qualifying spot (16th place). According to Thai News Agency, 11-year-old rising star Kirin Petchkiree, nicknamed "Firas," competed in the Street Men's quarter-finals, finishing 28th with a score of 38.77. Although she didn't advance, she impressed with her skillful tricks and earned praise from world-class athletes and coaches as a promising young talent on the path to the LA 2028 Olympics. ST, currently ranked 16th in the world, still has a chance to maintain her ranking in the top 22 for the 2028 Olympic qualifiers. Firas remains one of the youngest athletes in the competition and gained invaluable experience from this world-class event.
