Bangkok: The Thai SME Federation has presented a "Blue Book" to the government, outlining five critical development agendas aimed at strengthening the economy. The proposal includes the designation of "MSME Plus" as a national agenda item.

According to Thai News Agency, the "Blue Book" was unveiled during the THAI MSME FORUM 2026, which was themed "Turning Policy into Business Opportunities." Over 1,400 MSME entrepreneurs, as well as representatives from business networks, government agencies, private sector organizations, and partner organizations nationwide, participated in the event. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, received the document on behalf of the government. The federation hopes this initiative will guide policy decisions to bolster the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs, proposing that 'MSME Plus' be prioritized as a national agenda to ensure comprehensive support for micro and small-scale entrepreneurs.

Mr. Napapong Teerawor, President of the Thai SME Federation, emphasized that the main objective of the forum is to create a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs can influence the future trajectory of Thai MSMEs. The forum aims to go beyond discussing government policies by integrating experiences, challenges, and practical advice into actionable policy recommendations.

The "Blue Book" encompasses five significant agendas aimed at creating opportunities for MSMEs:

- Expanding marketing opportunities to increase trade channels domestically and internationally and promoting access to government procurement.

- Enhancing access to funding through suitable financial mechanisms, reducing credit access barriers, and fostering entrepreneurial growth.

- Leveraging technology and innovation by promoting the use of AI, digital technology, and innovation to boost productivity, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness.

- Reforming government laws, regulations, and procedures to create fair, transparent, and conducive business environments.

- Preparing entrepreneurs for the digital economy, green economy, and future industries to ensure sustainable growth.

Mr. Napapong further highlighted that MSME entrepreneurs require more than just short-term assistance; they need an economic system that provides access to markets, capital, and technology and allows them to compete under equitable conditions. Continuous structural reforms in Thailand could enable small businesses to thrive, expand, and contribute significantly to economic development.
