Bangkok: The Ministry of Education is motivating Thai students to participate in the PMWC 2025 World Mathematics Competition, recognizing the efforts of 93 students who have gained international acclaim. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, addressed a group of 12 Thai student representatives who will participate in the 2025 Po Leung Kuk 25th Primary Mathematics World Contest (PMWC 2025). She also awarded medals and certificates to 81 students from various international competitions, totaling 93 honorees.
According to Thai News Agency, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narumon commended the cooperation among various sectors, emphasizing that while winning an award is a success, it is merely a step in a longer journey. She advised students to remain dedicated to their studies and the pursuit of knowledge, emphasizing the importance of determination supported by parents and teachers. The Minister encouraged the 12 students traveling to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to strive for success and bring honor to themselves and their country.
The Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) highlighted that during the 2024-2025 academic year, Thai students participated in numerous international competitions, including those in mathematics, computers, innovation development, music, and art. These efforts resulted in 73 awards, showcasing the capabilities of Thai students on a global scale. Additionally, selected students will represent Thailand at the international mathematics competition in Vietnam from August 14-19, 2025. This initiative is supported by Wat Nairong Secondary School and Chonlaprathan Witthaya School, alongside parents, teachers, and administrators who play crucial roles in nurturing and assisting students.
