According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national weightlifters, comprising both male and female athletes, are focused on delivering stellar performances at the 2026 Asian Games. This competition serves as a critical milestone on their journey towards the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Their dedication is underscored by their achievements at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, where they garnered 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. Notably, the silver medals were clinched by Weerapol Wichuma in the men's 73 kg category and Teerapong Silachai in the men's 61 kg category, while Surajana Khambao secured a bronze in the women's 49 kg category.
