Thai Women’s Futsal Team Sets Sights on 2025 World Cup Quarterfinals

Manila: The Thai women’s futsal team has embarked on its journey to reach the top eight in the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup, beginning with their first practice on a real competition field in the Philippines. The team is preparing for an intense group stage, starting with their opening match against Spain, which is set to take place on November 22nd.

According to Thai News Agency, the team’s initial practice session was observed by Adisak Benjasiriwan, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand, and team manager Kritsada Sajjakul. Head coach Thanathorn Santanaprasit focused on familiarizing the players with the local weather, pitch conditions, and futsal ball, while also drilling both offensive and defensive strategies during the hour-long session.

Ranked 4th in the world, the Thai team faces a challenging group stage in Group B, competing against Spain, ranked 2nd, Colombia, ranked 8th, and Canada, ranked 74th. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, a goal firmly set by the Thai team.

Defender Hataichanok Thepkhun expressed her excitement about participating in her first Futsal World Cup and her determination to advance to the quarterfinals. She urged Thai sports fans to support the team as they strive to gain crucial points in their opening match against Spain.

The Thai women’s futsal team’s group stage schedule includes matches on November 22nd against Spain, November 25th against Canada, and November 28th against Colombia, all of which will be held at PhilSports Arena in Manila.
