Thunderdome: The Thai women’s snooker team, known as “Mink, Ploy, and Mind,” secured a decisive 3-0 victory against Indonesia to win the gold medal in the women’s team snooker event at the 2025 SEA Games.
According to Thai News Agency, the billiards sports competition at the 33rd SEA Games, hosted at Thunderdome, Muang Thong Thani, featured a strong performance by the Thai team. The team comprised “Mink Saraburi” Natcharat Wongharuthai, the world number 1 and 2022 Women’s World Champion; “Ploy Khon Kaen” Ploychompoo Laokiatpong, ranked world number 10 and the 2024 Women’s Amateur World Champion; and “Mind Sakon” Panchaya Channoi, the current U-21 World Champion. They competed against the Indonesian team, represented by Anabela Putri Yohana and Emilia Putri Rahmanda.
In the opening frame, Thailand’s “Mind Sakol” Panchaya Channoi delivered a strong performance against Annabella Putri Yohana, winning 80-22 and giving Thailand an early lead.
The second frame saw Thailand’s Natchararat Wongharuthai, also known as “Mink Saraburi,” compete against Emilia Putri Rahmanda. Mink secured victory with a score of 83-50, extending Thailand’s lead to 2-0.
The final frame featured a doubles match where “Mink Saraburi” and “Ploy Khon Kaen” faced Annabella Putri Yohana and Emilia Putri Rahmanda. The Thai duo achieved a 115-0 win, with “Ploy” making a significant contribution by scoring 95 points in a single break. This victory clinched the 3-0 frame win and the gold medal for Thailand.
Following their success, Mink, Ploy, and Mind expressed their delight in bringing gold medals to Thai sports fans. They encouraged supporters to continue their backing for the individual events and other athletes at this year’s SEA Games.
