Bangkok: The Thai women’s national volleyball team has made it to the final of the SEA Games, setting their sights on securing their 17th championship title. In a dominating performance, they defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the semi-finals, showcasing their prowess on the court.
According to Thai News Agency, the semi-final match took place at Indoor Stadium Hua Mak, where the Thai team, as Group A champions, faced off against Indonesia, the Group B runner-up. The match was a display of skill and strategy, as the Thai team, under the guidance of head coach “Coach Ott” Kiatipong Ratchatagriengkrai, fielded a strong lineup. Key players included captain Chatchu-on Moksri, Pornpun Guedparach, Pimpichaya Kokram, Sasipaporn Chantavisut, Thaddao Nuekjaeng, Wimolrat Thanaphan, and libero Piyanut Paennoy.
The Thai team secured their victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-15, ensuring their place in the final against Vietnam. The final match is scheduled for today at 5:00 PM, where the Thai team will aim to defend their title and achieve their 15th consecutive SEA Games gold medal.
After the match, Coach Ott and captain Chatchu-on Moksri commented on the upcoming final against Vietnam, acknowledging the challenge it presents. They emphasized the importance of thorough preparation to face a formidable opponent in the final.
