Bangkok: Thailand and Vietnam reinforced their bilateral relationship as Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed Vietnamese President To Lam on his official visit to Thailand. The visit aims to bolster cooperation across various sectors.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister, who also serves as the Minister of Interior, resumed his duties promptly after returning from France to greet President To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and his wife, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly. The couple was warmly received as government guests upon their arrival in Thailand. The welcoming ceremony included an inspection of the honor guard, followed by a group photo, guest book signing, and a tour of souvenirs in the Ivory Room inside the Thai Khu Fah Building at Government House.
Subsequent discussions between the two nations focused on regional and global issues. Both sides expressed a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation in multiple areas such as economics, trade, investment, security, and regional cooperation. These discussions paved the way for a full plenary session held at the Phakdi Bodin Building.
The plenary session featured key figures from both countries. The Thai delegation included Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat, and Mrs. Supajee Suthamphan. The Vietnamese delegation comprised Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Mr. Phan Van Giang, Mr. Luong Tam Quang, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Mr. Le Manh Hung, and Mr. Vu Hai Quan.
