Thailand Braces for Extreme Heat as Meteorological Department Issues Weather Alert

Bangkok: Extremely hot weather is expected in some areas of the North, Northeast, and Central regions of Thailand. The Meteorological Department reports hot and hazy weather in Thailand during the day, with extremely hot conditions in these regions.

According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts that over the next 24 hours, Thailand will experience generally hot weather with hazy conditions during the day, and extremely hot temperatures in some areas of the North, Northeast, and Central regions. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in some areas due to a low-pressure system caused by heat covering upper Thailand. Meanwhile, southerly and southeasterly winds covering these areas are beginning to strengthen. The public is advised to take care of their health due to the hot to extremely hot weather by avoiding prolonged outdoor work or activities, and to be aware of the potential dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas.

Currently, the accumulation of particulate matter or haze is moderate to fairly high in the northern, northeastern, and upper central regions of Thailand due to low to moderate ventilation.
