Thailand Braces for Summer Storms Across Northern and Central Regions

Thailand: Thailand's Meteorological Department issued a weather warning on Tuesday, alerting residents in upper Thailand to prepare for a wave of summer storms expected to hit between April 23 and 25.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather agency forecast a combination of thunderstorms, high winds, and isolated hailstrikes. The storms will first impact the northern, northeastern, and eastern regions before reaching central Thailand, including Bangkok and its surrounding provinces.

The volatile weather is triggered by a cold high-pressure system from China moving into the northeast and the South China Sea, colliding with the extreme heat currently prevailing over the country.

"People should avoid open areas and stay clear of large trees, unstable buildings, and billboards," the department said in its official statement.

Farmers were also advised to reinforce structures for fruit crops and take precautions to protect livestock from sudden atmospheric changes. Significant temperature fluctuations are expected across the affected areas during the three-day period.
