Prachinburi: Thailand stages a comeback in the foursome game, closing the gap on South Korea and keeping their hopes alive for the Ryder Cup title. The Golf Association of Thailand organized the Ryder Cup team golf competition at Kabinburi Sport Club, Prachinburi Province, from January 21-23, 2026. The Thai national golf team competed against the South Korean national team. Mr. Rangsarit Laksitanon, President of the Golf Association of Thailand, was present to watch the competition and provide close support to the Thai golfers.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national team is fielding a total of 12 golfers: 6 men - Panot Sukhanan, Sivakorn Kriengkrai, Thakrit Supakornchuawong, Settavut Kenanan, Parin Sarasamut, and Rattanabodin Tasneetipakorn - and 6 women - Suritpriya Phruksanubal, Marisa Tojai, Paninee Khanmanee, Wichayada Rammuang, Chonpansa Thawilsang, and Wirada Thawilsang.
On the first day of the fourball competition (each player hits their own ball, and the best player on each hole wins), South Korea led with a score of 4.5 to 1.5. On the second day, played in a foursome format (players take turns hitting the same ball), the Thai golfers fought back, winning 3 matches, drawing 1, and losing 2, earning an additional 3.5 points, while South Korea gained 2.5 points. After two days, South Korea still leads 7-5.
The final day, January 23, 2026, will feature 12 single-match competitions. The situation remains very close, with Team Thailand trailing by only 2 points and having a chance to win the championship. The first match tees off at 7:30 AM at the Kabinburi Sport Club in Prachinburi Province.
