Bangkok: The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) is offering a significant New Year gift by providing free access to its expressways for seven days during the New Year festival. This initiative will include the Kanchanaphisek Expressway and the Burapha Vithee Expressway, with tolls waived from 00:01 on December 30, 2025, to midnight on January 5, 2026. Furthermore, the Chalerm Mahanakorn Expressway, the Si Ratch Expressway, and the Udon Ratchaya Expressway will have free access from 00:01 on December 31, 2025, to 24:00 on January 1, 2026. This move is aimed at easing travel, reducing expenses, and alleviating traffic congestion during the festive period.
According to Thai News Agency, EXAT’s initiative includes a total of 110 expressway toll booths that will be exempt from fees. These comprise 20 toll booths on the Burapha Vithee Expressway, 30 on the Kanchanaphisek Expressway, 19 on the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway, 31 on the Si Ratch Expressway, and 10 on the Udon Ratchathaya Expressway.
Following the free toll period, EXAT will launch a special campaign called ‘EASY PASS.Cashback’, offering a 50% refund on toll fees for those using EASY PASS on January 6, 2026. This refund will be applicable for one day only, from 00:01 to 24:00.
These benefits are available to those who pay tolls with Easy Pass, as a gesture of appreciation for their continued trust in the system. EASY PASS facilitates more convenient and faster travel, reduces toll waiting times, and enhances safety on expressways.
EXAT encourages expressway users who still pay tolls with cash to switch to EASY PASS for a more efficient travel experience. This transition not only saves time by eliminating the need to stop at toll booths but also allows users to benefit from ongoing special campaigns provided by EXAT.
