Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has inaugurated the Thailand Focus 2025 event, aiming to enhance confidence in the capital market while urging both public and private sectors to confront global challenges. This marks the 19th edition of the event, themed “Beyond the Challenges,” taking place at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok from August 27-29.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, officiated the opening ceremony and delivered a lecture titled “Policy and Markets: Building Confidence in Thailand’s Investment Climate.” His address covered the Thai economic landscape in comparison to global dynamics and outlined future strategies in response to various challenges. Dr. Rojanasakul forecasted that the Thai economy is expected to grow above 2.2% in 2025.
Mr. Asadej Kongsiri, Director and Managing Director of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, highlighted the numerous situations that have unfolded over the past year, including a new US president whose policies have created global ripples, as well as natural and geopolitical disturbances like earthquakes and border conflicts. He emphasized that Thailand, like the rest of the world, has faced significant challenges impacting the economy. The event is intended to guide both public and private sectors in developing adaptation strategies, in line with the theme of Thailand Focus 2025.
The Thailand Focus 2025 event is set to continue until August 29.
