Thailand Focus 2026 Highlights Positive Developments in Capital Market

Bangkok: Thailand Focus 2026 has officially commenced, marking a significant event organized by the Stock Exchange of Thailand in conjunction with its partners. This event is held alongside the 2026 IMF World Bank Annual Meetings in October, with 77 listed companies actively engaging with institutional investors.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Assadej Kongsiri, President and CEO of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, opened the event with a speech highlighting the positive advancements in the Thai capital market compared to the previous year. The SET Index has risen from 1,200 to 1,600 points, and the average daily trading volume has more than doubled, surpassing US$2 billion. Additionally, foreign capital inflows have reversed to net inflows exceeding US$2 billion this year. These changes indicate an improved investment environment, aided by political stability post-election, which enhances confidence in policy execution and structural reforms. Furthermore, there are emerging signs of recovery in foreign direct investment and private sector investment.

Thailand Focus 2026 serves as a vital platform for discussions and exchanges between the government, the capital market, listed companies, and institutional investors. It aims to develop policies and services that highlight Thailand's economic potential. Notably, this event runs in parallel with efforts to boost confidence and prepare the nation for hosting the 2026 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meetings. The emphasis is on building trust among both domestic and international institutional investors, showcasing the stability and long-term growth prospects of the Thai capital market.
