Since this time is the agenda of chairing the meeting of the Pacific Island Countries.

The Prime Minister said that Thailand recognizes climate change as a common problem for all countries. Many areas in Asia and the Pacific experience frequent climate disasters. As climate change is seen as an obstacle to achieving the SDGs in the region, it is imperative to step up climate cooperation action. Increase the capacity to cope and adapt. help build an ecosystem contributing to balanced, sustainable and inclusive growth.

“For Thailand, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy is a guideline for national development. which is consistent with climate action and has improved the goals under the participation set by the country and form a long-term strategy To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065, and support the expansion of regional climate change cooperation. In this regard, the Prime Minister presented 3 key issues that will help support climate action in the region as follows: 1. Cooperation under ESCAP should be synergistic and build upon cooperation under other regional and sub-regional frameworks such as Bangkok. Goals on BCG, which aims to create balanced and environmentally friendly growth. Accelerate the SDG drive along with climate action,” the Prime Minister said.
