Thailand Launches Over 170 Scholarships to Attract International Students

Bangkok: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) is joining forces with universities across Thailand to open applications for the "Thailand Scholarships 2026," which offers more than 170 scholarships spanning over 200 programs. This initiative is designed to draw international students to study in Thailand and elevate Thai higher education to an international platform.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Lakshman Samansin, Director of the International Affairs Division at MHESI, announced that the ministry, alongside the nation's higher education institutions, is advancing the internationalization of Thai higher education. The 'Thailand Scholarships 2026' program is now accepting applications, which cover a broad spectrum of academic pursuits. The scholarships cater to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, as well as exchange programs and short-term training, providing a chance for students worldwide to study and share experiences in Thailand.

The Director emphasized that the Thailand Scholarships program is crucial for transforming Thailand into a regional and international education hub. For the 2026 academic year, the program has garnered support from higher education institutions nationwide, offering a wide range of courses that align with future workforce development and skills.

This initiative is not only focused on enhancing the internationalization of Thai higher education but also aims to develop human resources at both regional and global levels. It aligns with the government's policy to attract international students, foster knowledge exchange, and establish sustainable international educational cooperation networks.
