Thailand Open Cycling Championships Set to Boost Chainat Economy

Chainat: The Cycling Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, in collaboration with Chainat Province, is gearing up to host the third round of the 2026 Thailand Open Mountain Bike and Road Cycling Championships on August 15-16, 2026. The event, which will take place in the Khao Phlong and Khao Khayai areas, is expected to attract cyclists from across the nation, bringing significant economic benefits to the region.

According to Thai News Agency, General Decha Hemkrasri has highlighted the challenging nature of the race route, which combines flat and hilly terrain to test the capabilities of cyclists. With an anticipated attendance of over 2,000 athletes and spectators, the event is poised to generate substantial income and stimulate the local economy.

Phumivat Udomsap conducted a personal survey of the competition route, while Wisanu Witthayawarawat confirmed the readiness of all sectors involved to accommodate participants and their companions. This readiness extends to local infrastructure and hospitality services, ensuring a seamless experience for all involved.

In addition to the economic impact, the event provides a platform to promote tourism in Chainat province. Notable attractions such as the Chainat Bird Park, Chao Phraya Dam, and various cultural sites are expected to draw visitors, further distributing income to local hotels, restaurants, shops, and communities throughout the duration of the event.
