According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has partnered with three leading UK universities to launch seven international programs in Thailand. This initiative aims to cultivate high-quality human resources and align Thai higher education with international standards.
The Ministry signed a cooperation agreement with Global Educational Excellence Co., Ltd. to establish the 'Global Link Institute' under the leadership of prominent higher education institutions from the United Kingdom. The initiative aims to bring seven high-quality international programs to Thailand, enhancing the quality of Thai education to international standards and establishing Thailand as an education hub in ASEAN. Dr. Panphermsak Arunee, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MHESI, and Prof. Dr. Tosaporn Sirisampan, Chairman of Global Educational Excellence Co., Ltd., were present at the signing ceremony.
Dr. Panphomsak highlighted that this collaboration aligns with the Cabinet resolution of December 23, 2015, which approved the establishment of high-potential foreign higher education institutions in Thailand. This falls under the policy framework of the National Council for Peace and Order's Order No. 29/2017, aimed at promoting the transfer of knowledge, technology, and innovation from world-class universities to enhance the potential of Thai youth and personnel.
The "Global Link Institute" will offer courses from three leading universities in the United Kingdom:
1. The University of Manchester offers two programs: Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with Entrepreneurship (BSc Biotechnology with Entrepreneurship) and Master of Science in Biotechnology and Enterprise (MSc Biotechnology and Enterprise).
2. University of Birmingham offers three programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management - Business Analytics (BSc Business Management with Business Analytics), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSc Business Analytics), and Master of Science in Marketing (MSc Marketing).
3. University of Reading offers two programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management (with an International Foundation Year) and Master of Science in Management.
