Paris: Ekniti indicates Thailand is ready to welcome a new wave of investment from around the world. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the Thai government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, relevant cabinet ministers, and the Board of Investment (BOI), engaged in discussions with prominent French companies, including Imeyrs, Thales, and IN Groupe, on May 25, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, the talks took place in Paris and centered on the advanced materials industries for lithium batteries, cybersecurity, and digital identity. Mr. Ekniti highlighted Thailand's potential as a high-tech manufacturing hub in ASEAN. He extended an invitation to these companies to bolster Thailand's electric vehicle supply chain, collaborate on developing cybersecurity infrastructure, and promote the nation as a regional center for secure identity technology development.
Mr. Ekniti concluded by noting that these investment discussions with leading French companies, amid shifting global geopolitics, reflect Thailand's confidence and potential to attract a new wave of global investment. This is expected to serve as a crucial engine for the country's economic growth and ensure its continued stability.
