Thailand Prepares for Advance Voting on February 1, 2026

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has detailed its readiness for the advance voting scheduled for February 1, 2026. Acting Sub-Lieutenant Dr. Sampan Saengkhamlert, Director of the Bangkok Election Commission, emphasized the preparedness for the event and advised voters to ensure their eligibility through the Smart Vote app for a seamless process.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Saengkhamlert stressed the importance of bringing a national identification card or any government-issued card featuring a 13-digit number to verify identity at the polling stations. The voting process will involve green ballots for selecting individual candidates and pink ballots for choosing a preferred party. Voters are reminded that photographing marked ballots, taking selfies, and tearing ballots are prohibited actions.
