Thailand to Host IMF-World Bank Reception with Cultural Performances

Bangkok:Thailand is set to welcome over 400 global financial leaders on October 14, 2026, during the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, as announced by Government Spokesperson Ekkapob Pianpises.

According to Thai News Agency, the official reception will take place at Government House and aims to promote Thailand's cultural heritage and soft power. The event will feature a musical performance by 16-year-old Thai singer Nene Royal, winner of America's Got Talent Season 21, who was invited by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

The evening will also include traditional performances by National Artists, the Sarokrau Symphony Orchestra, and a Joe Louis Puppet Theater show. Guests will enjoy a four-course traditional Thai set menu, featuring locally sourced dishes such as tom yum goong and royal project brown rice.

National Security Council Secretary-General Gen. Chaipruek Duangprapat confirmed that comprehensive safety and emergency response plans are in place under the supervision of the Royal Thai Police, with intelligence reports indicating no current security concerns.
