Thailand Unveils Medal Designs for 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games

Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has unveiled the medals for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, designed with a unique blend of sports and Thai arts, showcasing a distinctive Thai identity under the concept of “PLAY BY THE RULES.”

According to Thai News Agency, the SAT released images of the medals for the 33rd SEA Games, which Thailand will host from December 9-20, 2025, in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla. The medals feature a grid pattern from Thai art, used as the competition symbol, combined with the lines of a stadium frame, demonstrating Thai identity by merging sports with Thai art.

Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of SAT, stated that the medals reflect “sports and art,” “international cooperation,” and “Thai identity,” using the concept of “PLAY BY THE RULES,” which emphasizes rules, regulations, and discipline, the foundations of fairness, sportsmanship, and respect for competitors.

The medals are crafted from strong, impact-resistant materials and plated in gold, silver, and nickel to prevent peeling. Measuring 8.5 centimeters in diameter and 0.8 centimeters thick, they feature sharp and clear text and logos. The front displays the 2025 SEA Games logo, while the back shows the SEA Games Federation logo and competition text. The background features a Thai woven pattern, symbolizing the weaving of bonds of friendship, with interwoven lines representing cooperation, unity, and continuity among athletes from all ASEAN countries, highlighting sports’ power in connecting people and cultures.

The Governor added that the medals for the 13th ASEAN Para Games, set for January 20-26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, will use the same design, with only changes to the logo and symbols. Each medal meets high standards, being strong, durable, and beautiful, and is expected to be a symbol of victory and pride for all athletes.
