Bangkok:”Chaiyanok” emphasizes that discussions on combating scammers will build confidence in Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, expressed that the International Conference on Global Partnership to Combat Cybercrime, hosted by Thailand, has demonstrated the country’s commitment to tackling online crime. The event saw enthusiastic international participation, highlighting the importance of exchanging information on technology as a positive step forward.

The conference, according to Mr. Chaiyanok, was not intended to isolate Cambodia on the world stage, but rather to unite countries against the common challenge of scammers. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, reiterated this stance, focusing on cooperation within the confines of national laws. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society’s recent signing of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi, Vietnam, was also noted as a move towards more concrete international collaboration.

Mr. Chaiyanok emphasized that the conference itself was a tangible action towards solving the multinational issue of online scams. The level of participation reflected a growing global awareness and commitment to addressing cybercrime. He believes that Thailand’s dedication to combating online crime will positively influence how the world views the country in this context.

On future cooperation, Mr. Chaiyanok stated that the focus was not specifically on Cambodia but on fostering understanding that technology can be a solution rather than a problem. He highlighted the importance of proper control and monitoring to prevent technology from being misused. The exchange of information at the forum is expected to significantly impact technological advancements in scam prevention across different countries.
