Bangkok: "Thammanat" expresses satisfaction with the parliamentary election results, attributing success to agricultural policies. Captain Thamanat Phromphao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Kla Tham Party, spoke positively after the National Fisheries Policy Committee meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The Election Commission's vote count, nearly complete, showed results aligning with party expectations.
According to Thai News Agency, Thammanat highlighted the party's success in securing 57 seats, close to their target of around 60. He noted that despite narrowly missing out in some districts, success was achieved in provinces like Mae Hong Son, Roi Et, and Suphan Buri, where the party's efforts paid off as expected.
Thammanat emphasized that the favorable outcomes were a direct result of the party's focus on agricultural policies. By addressing water and land issues and maintaining strong community engagement, the party garnered significant support from farmers, reinforcing trust and securing votes.
Thammanat dismissed rumors of government formation discussions, stating that no talks have occurred. He remained disconnected after fulfilling party responsibilities, asserting that any government formation should respect the leading party's role. He added that discussions on forming a government are premature, with parties still assessing their positions. If included in future government arrangements, Thammanat indicated a desire to continue current agricultural policies, depending on discussions with the leading party.
