Thammanat Directs Urgent Relief Efforts for Hat Yai Flood Victims

Hat yai: Thammanat has ordered the Agricultural Cooperatives Promotion Organization (A.T.O.) to transport rice and drinking water to help the people of Hat Yai. Minister Thammanat has directed the Agricultural Cooperatives (Agro-Industry Organization) to utilize Royal Rainmaking Department aircraft to deliver essential supplies to the flood-affected residents of Hat Yai. The government is making concerted efforts to expedite relief through all available channels.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao has instructed the Agricultural Marketing Organization (AMO) to mobilize resources in response to the severe flooding in the southern region, with a focus on Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The area has experienced prolonged flooding, leaving many residents stranded and in urgent need of assistance.

Captain Thammanat has initiated an airlift operation in coordination with the Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department. This operation aims to ensure the swift delivery of essential supplies to the affected areas. The initial shipment included over 1,500 kilograms of rice and 1,000 bottles of drinking water, which have been delivered to the aid distribution center in Hat Yai District. Further deliveries are planned to continue until the flood situation stabilizes.

“The government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, is closely monitoring the flood situation in the South and is prepared to mobilize all agencies to swiftly reach the area to provide necessary aid. I have instructed the Agricultural Cooperatives (Agro-Tourism Organization) and all agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to accelerate the delivery of food, drinking water, and essential supplies, including pet food, to the affected people as quickly as possible. Whether by land, sea, or air, we must act because the safety and survival of the people are paramount,” stated Lt. Col. Thammanat.
