Bangkok: "Thammanat" expressed readiness to serve either in opposition or government, confident in the right track of his political journey. Captain Thamanat Phromphao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, emphasized his party's secure standing with 58 seats, pending only the party-list seats, and noted that the recount process might delay government formation.

According to Thai News Agency, the election results for the Kla Tham Party, chaired by Captain Thamanat, are clear with 58 seats secured. The party awaits the adjustment of proportional representation votes. Addressing concerns about a recount, Captain Thamanat reiterated his willingness to ensure transparency and investigate voter eligibility in Phayao.

Captain Thamanat clarified his Facebook post, asserting it was a show of sincerity rather than a political statement. He stated that a recount, if initiated, would not worry his party as they are prepared to scrutinize the process, potentially benefiting from it. The recount calls in various areas remain under the purview of the Election Commission.

The delay in forming a government stems from parties awaiting recount clarity. The constitution allows parliament to convene within 60 days if over 95% of votes are counted. Captain Thamanat affirmed the need for politicians to be ready for both government and opposition roles, focusing on constituency care.

In a lighter moment, Mr. Pramote Charoensilp, President of the Thai Farmers and Agriculturists Association, congratulated the Kla Tham Party on its election outcome, to which Captain Thamanat humorously responded before returning to his office duties.
