Thanya R-Siam Drops Charges Against Harassing Fan After Mental Illness Discovery

Bangkok: Thanya R-Siam, a renowned country singer, has chosen to forgive and not pursue legal action against a fan who made nuisance calls, after learning that the individual suffers from a mental illness. The decision came following a confrontation facilitated by the police.

According to Thai News Agency, Thanya R-Siam met with the police chief at Kannayao Police Station, where she engaged with the fan responsible for the distressing calls. The fan, who had not been taking prescribed medication for over six years, was identified as suffering from a mental illness. The singer had been subjected to four previous incidents, where rescue services and police were called to her home under false pretenses of a pregnant woman needing urgent help.

Upon encountering the fan, who was seen with a 3-month-old baby and exhibiting incoherent speech, Thanya R-Siam opted to forgive the individual. Her decision was influenced by the fan's mental health condition and the presence of the young child, prioritizing compassion over legal proceedings. She expressed relief in identifying the source of the nuisance and conveyed her hope that such incidents would not recur, as future actions might necessitate legal consequences.

The police have duly recorded the case and have advised the fan's relatives to maintain vigilant care of both the fan and the child involved.
