Pattani, Oct 26 - Assaulters shot and killed a deputy traffic police officer while he was walking out of a mosque after finishing prayers in Muang District, Pattani Province. Officials suspect that the attack was intended to create a situation before the 20th anniversary of Tak Bai. Pol. Lt. Adisak Bueraheng, 54, deputy traffic inspector at Pattani City Police Station, was shot multiple times in the torso with a handgun. Seven 11 mm bullet casings were found nearby. An overturned motorcycle was found. The investigation revealed that before the incident, Pol. Lt. Adisak had just finished praying at the Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Village 2, Khlong Maning Subdistrict, Khlong Maning District, Pattani Province. While he was getting on his motorcycle to return home, an unknown group of assailants ambush behind the mosque before pointing a gun at him. The deceased tried to run into the mosque, but the assailants chased after him and fired several shots at him until he fell over and died.
