Recently, Mr. Chucheep Phongchai, Governor of Mae Hong Son Province, has ordered relevant agencies and business operators to urgently find measures to regulate tourism in Pai District, especially rubber tubing in the Pai River by foreign tourists, after news on online media found tourists drinking alcohol, dressing provocatively, and behaving inappropriately while rubber tubing, in order not to affect the tourism image of the province. Initially, Mr. Anek Panthayom, the Pai District Chief, reported the facts and found inappropriate behavior after the tubing activity. The district and police will discuss with the operators to set joint measures, including prohibiting all types of alcoholic beverages in tubing activities, with a team to inspect every time, as well as requiring all tourists to dress appropriately and wear life jackets, as well as publicizing and creating understanding among tourists to respect local culture and appropriate dress.
