The Lives of Thai Workers in Israel: Fighting Tooth and Nail for Their Families

Chiang mai: More than a week of fighting in the Middle East, particularly with Israel heavily bombarded by missiles, has put over 58,000 Thai workers at risk. Among them are three Hmong brothers from Chiang Mai who have revealed they are taking the risk for their families. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour confirms it has a contingency plan in place to assist Thai workers.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Labour is monitoring the situation closely and is prepared to implement measures to ensure the safety and well-being of Thai workers in Israel. The ministry's contingency plan includes potential evacuation procedures and coordination with the Israeli government to facilitate the protection of Thai nationals.

The Hmong brothers, whose names have not been disclosed, shared that their decision to work in Israel was driven by the need to support their families back in Thailand. Despite the escalating conflict and the dangers posed by the ongoing missile attacks, the brothers remain committed to their work, highlighting the economic pressures faced by many Thai workers abroad.

The Ministry of Labour has urged Thai workers in Israel to stay in contact with the Thai Embassy and to follow safety protocols issued by local authorities. The ministry also emphasized its commitment to providing necessary assistance and ensuring the safe return of any workers who wish to leave the region due to the conflict.
